This is a typical scene most evenings at Cedar Key. Often the water is so calm that the sky and water meet together in an apparent mirror image.
This high resolution panoramic image of the Cedar Key public marina and Dock Street is the result of stitching 13 individual images together. I used a DSLR camera with the lens focal length set at approximately 50mm, then snapped 13 images as I swept the scene from left to right.
To capture a scene like this it is important to keep the camera level and to overlap the image captures by approx. 25%. Exposure, focus and other settings should be set via manual mode, to prevent them from changing as you capture the images. From there the images are loaded into image editing software and stitched together.
