Another beautiful sunrise over Cedar Key.
The above images are of Black Skimmers returning to the Cedar Key beach from wherever they go to spend the night. (Probably horseshoe key)
In the last shot their unique shape is silhouetted against the morning twilight sky.
The sun had not quite risen above the horizon when these shots were taken.
A panoramic shot of Dock Street and the pier from a perspective along 1st street. Toward the right side of the image sits the ruins of the Thomas Guest House. In the far right of the image a group of skimmers can be seen heading toward the Cedar Key beach.
The above shot is a composite of 17 images stitched together. Click on the image to see a larger view. (Once open in a new window, and depending on your browser, you can probably click it again to show it full size – which is still only a small version of the original file.)
The old Thomas Guest House is in the foreground with the Cedar Key pier in the background as the sun rises above Dock Street.
