While taking a walk along 1st street, we noticed this lizard seemingly taking in the view.

Brown Anole-1

At first we thought it was a large Chameleon, but soon realized it was something else.  After getting back home and doing an internet search I soon discovered it is a Brown Anole.

In this shot the lizard is displaying its Frill.

A few tidbits from Wikipedia:

The Brown Anole (Anolis sagrei) is a lizard native to Cuba and the Bahamas.  It has been widely introduced elsewhere, and is now found in Florida and as far north as southern Georgia, Texas, Taiwan, Hawaii, Southern California, and other Caribbean islands.

As a defense mechanism, Brown Anoles can detach most of their tails when pursued or captured. The piece that breaks off will continue to move, hopefully distracting the predator allowing the anole to escape. The lost tail will partially regrow.
