For about the third day in a row it has been very foggy here in little ol’ Cedar Key… For a couple hours mid-day it had completely cleared up, but then a thick fog rolled in again. The temps were ideal, and since my wife and I actually enjoy fog, it was a great day as far as we’re concerned.
How foggy was it? While walking around the boat ramp, we could hear people on a boat trying to make it back to shore. It sounded like they were very close by for quite some time, but we couldn’t see them at all. Finally when they were 50-75 feet out, we could just barely make out the shape of a boat.. It turns out it was a commercial clam boat. These guys know the water around Cedar Key like the back of their hand, but they seemed pretty excited to have finally found the dock.
