While taking a walk on the boardwalk near the Cedar Key cemetery, we were greeted with a pleasant surprise when we got to the Northeast overlook area. A large group of White Pelicans awaited us!

Unlike Brown Pelicans, White Pelicans don’t come onto shore where people are. Often they stay quite a ways off shore, so it’s always a treat to get to see them up close.
I have been told that the White Pelicans have been seen off the path behind the Cedar Key Museum State Park on many mornings.
