Today while visiting one of my favorite places for shorebirds, there were no birds within a good range for my 400mm lens. However, I was able to get a few shots of birds in flight as they passed by.
This Great White Egret was one of the first to fly by. It came out of nowhere and I had at most 2 seconds to get a shot before it disappeared behind the mangroves.
This shot demonstrates how extremely fast modern cameras and lenses can acquire focus on a fast moving object.
Here are a few more shots from this morning.
